My name is Ryan Anderson and I am the performing artist at Sculptures In Motion located in Reedsport, Oregon. I have been professionally sculpting since 2007 after graduating from Reedsport High School.

I first picked up a chainsaw and began carving in the summer of 2005 as a way to attend a Marine Biology school after graduating, spending my summers practicing my new trade competing in competitions and local fairs. After graduating I traveled back east competing along the Mississippi river, becoming very successful winning awards and making a name for myself. I found myself loving what I do, getting to travel all over the united states and being inspired by all my new peers that have now become part of my daily life

In 2009 I hit my first big goal in my new career, wining first place in the semi pro division in my home town of Reedsport, Oregon. moving me up to the professional division. I began to not only travel all over the states but now internationally, competing in Canada as well as England and Scotland. I quickly became formidable competitor in the competition circuits taking high honors in many events.

some of my most recent success include.

The thrill and adrenaline rush that I get from competing is unlike any experience. the buzzing of surrounding chainsaws from competitors around me, the inspiration of the sculpture I'm creating and the music in my ears to keep the beat going. Always attempting to not only push my own creative mind but the limits of chainsaw carving itself pushing to take things to the next level of sculpting.

I credit my success to many family and friends who have helped me throughout my career and my fellow competitors for their inspiration. Without their support I would not be sculptor, man and father that I am today.
